Funny Friday: Graduation Cake Fails

In honor of all of the recent graduations, I thought it would be fitting to share a few graduation funnies…namely some graduation cake fails.  The first cake apparently has certified and validated that there are genuine Victorians (aka “Valid Victorian”) at that graduation ceremony!  I’m not sure if the “Fireworks Explosion” decoration request was just too much to ask or maybe just a bit of sarcasm.  I can’t help but picture Ben Stein (as in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off….”Bueller, Bueller, Bueller”) saying in his flat and monotone voice “Class of 2007 Rocks…Fireworks Explosion”.  Lastly, how anyone could confuse “put a CAP on her head” for “put a CAT on her head” is beyond me!!  I hope you get as many laughs from these as I did!  Happy Friday! 🙂

“Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” Genesis 11:7 (NIV)

Funny Friday: Jake from State Farm

Funny Friday: Jake from State Farm

I met Jake from State Farm at our local insurance office the other day.  I think somebody may have stolen his khakis!

“Then Jacob tore his clothes and dressed himself in burlap…” Genesis 37:34a (NLT)

Burlap is khaki-colored, right?

Funny Friday: They will find you

Bathroom Break--They will find you!

Funny Friday: They will find you

Oh so true.  Not even in the privacy of your bathroom can you escape from your kids.  They WILL find you.  My sister found and sent this to me the other day because we were just talking about this very subject around Mother’s Day when we were reminiscing about never giving our poor mother privacy…even when she went to the bathroom.  Sorry mom!

“You will find no place to hide; there will be no way to escape.” Jeremiah 25:35 (NLT)

Funny Friday: I want to learn British

My young daughter says, "I want to learn British. They just speak with an accent." :)

Funny Friday: I want to learn British

We were recently talking at dinner about learning different foreign languages.  My young daughter chimed in and said, “I want to learn British.  They just speak with an accent.” 🙂  We’re never short of laughs with my kids around.

“At one time all the people of the world spoke the same language and used the same words.” Genesis 11:1 (NLT)

Funny Friday: You can’t eat ice cream without your children!

According to my young niece, there’s a rule that you can’t eat ice cream without your children. When her dad asked her “Where’s it say that?”, she quickly replied, “The Bible. It’s in the Bible.” 🙂

“Do not eat it, so that it may go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is right in the eyes of the LORD.” Deuteronomy 12:25 (NIV)

Funny Friday: I can’t find my cell phone

Crap. I gotta go. I can't find my cell phone anywhere!

Funny Friday:  I can’t find my cell phone

This is the story of my life! 🙂 “Crap. I gotta go. I can’t find my cell phone anywhere!”  My mom sent this image to me after I “lost” my cell phone twice this past weekend when I was with her.  Once I had just handed her my phone to show her something on it, and then 10 seconds later I said, “Crap.  I can’t find my phone.”  A couple of hours later when we were walking around at a plant festival I pulled my phone out of my back pocket; then moments later I started feeling my back pocket for my phone…”Crap.  My cell phone is missing.”  Then I cracked up laughing because I realized that I was holding it in my left hand!  I’m telling you…if my head wasn’t screwed on. 🙂  Maybe somebody has prayed a hedge of thorns around me??

“Look how I’m blocking her path with thorns and building a wall to hinder her, so she can’t find her way.” Hosea 2:6 (ISV)

Funny Friday: Humans Still Think I’m Lost

I don’t think I’d ever find this dog!  I think I found the NEW master of hide-and-seek. 🙂

“I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands.” Psalm 119:176 (NLT)

Funny Friday: Close that bad boy up!

Funny Friday: Close that bad boy up!

Funny Friday: Close that bad boy up!

I laughed out loud when I saw this on my daughter’s math worksheet that she brought home this week.  I love this kid!  This is completely her personality!  How do you close a shape?  Well, OBVIOUSLY you just add a line to close that bad boy up!

“In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, that is fallen: and I will close up the breaches of the walls thereof, and repair what was fallen: and I will rebuild it as in the days of old.” Amos 9:11 (Douay-Rheims Bible)
