Funny Friday: Meet Phteven

Meet Phteven...you know, Stephen with a "ph"

Funny Friday: Meet Phteven

You’ve probably already seen this somewhere on the internet, but this photo of Phteven here always brings me great joy! 😉  This picture is always good for a laugh.  I think I’ve found a very fitting verse to accompany Phteven too:

“All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.” Acts 6:15 (NIV)

Technically, Phteven has a different name: it’s “Tuna”.  He’s actually quite famous now!  Check out his very own Instagram page here and his website here.  His background story is pretty neat (read about him here).  This charming little dude now even has his own book: Tuna Melts My Heart: The Underdog with the Overbite.

Funny Friday: Gotta Love English!

I came across this image on Pinterest, and it cracked me up!  I can’t imagine trying to learn English as a second language.  Gotta love English!

“And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” Genesis 11:6-7 (KJV)

Happy, Healthy & Prosperous: Top 10 Posts of 2014

The New Year is here!  We had a stellar year in 2014 (of course with ups and downs).  This time last year this blog was just a passing thought in my head.  OK…it was actually a suggestion command from God that I reluctantly accepted over several months (didn’t get my site up and running until July!).  Overall, though I’m so glad I obeyed God.  I feel honored to be used to speak into the lives of people and hopefully share a little bit of insight of practical ways to achieve Godly success in a variety of areas.  This past week I did a year-in-review and checked on my site’s progress.  This week, I thought I’d share the Top 10 Posts of 2014 with you in case you missed any or would like to revisit them.

Keep Christmas All Year

Keep Christmas All Year...here are some ideas...

Keep Christmas All Year

“Remember his covenant forever–the commitment he made to a thousand generations.” 1 Chronicles 16:15 (NLT)

I don’t know about you, but I tend to get in a minor funk once Christmas is over.  The Christmas season is my favorite time of year.  I love the build-up, the anticipation, and the ongoing celebration.  I love the atmosphere: the music, the decorations and (for the most part) the overall kindness and generosity of people.  The season never seems long enough, and I never want it to be over.  Sometimes I have a tendency to try to prolong the season.  I continue to listen to Christmas music, save Christmas movies on my DVR to keep watching, and leave my decorations up for as long as my husband will tolerate (read a funny story about that here).  No, we are not the people who leave Christmas lights up year round (no judgment if you do!).  And yes…I have a Christmas Countdown app on my phone that my kids and I look at throughout the year!  I guess I just have a childlike wish to keep Christmas all year.

Funny Friday: Coke Nativity?

I stumbled upon this unconventional Christmas scene: a Coke Nativity!

“This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 1:18 (NLT)

or

“El nacimiento de Jesús, el Cristo, fue así: Su madre, María, estaba comprometida para casarse con José, pero antes de unirse a él, resultó que estaba encinta por obra del Espíritu Santo.” Mateo 1:18 (NVI)

The Story of Christmas

The Story of Christmas: An amazing rendition you have to see

The Story of Christmas

This is the Story of Christmas, as told by Pastor Willie George and the Creative Team at Church on the Move in Tulsa, OK.

This is one of the most amazing retellings of the story of Christmas that I have ever heard. It has been an annual tradition at our church for the past several years.  It gives me chills and brings me to tears every time.  I’m so thankful to my amazing pastor and to the wonderful creative team.  They can speak straight to the hearts of people through their gifts.  Praise God for them and for their talents.  When people operate in their gifts the Lord is glorified.

Take Some Practical Steps this Christmas:
