Funny Friday: Presents Day

Do you celebrate "Presents Day"?

Funny Friday: Presents Day

This past Monday, my 4 year old niece kept asking my sister where the presents were. My sister kept telling her that it was NOT her birthday and that she already received her Valentine’s present.  She continued to be very persistent about the presents. My sister, thinking my niece was being very ungrateful, finally asked her, “Why do you keep asking for presents?!” To which my niece replied, “You told me it was Presents Day!”

Hope you had a Happy Presents Day (aka President’s Day)! 🙂

“…a day of joy and feasting, a day for giving presents to each other.” Esther 9:19 (NIV)

Funny Friday: Honest Valentine

Honest Valentine...funny, but oh so true! :)

Funny Friday: Honest Valentine

“I love you even though I sometimes think about suffocating your in your sleep.”  Funny…but oh so true. 🙂

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.” Psalm 4:8 (NLT)

Thank goodness for this verse.

Funny Friday: Men in Labor

Funny Friday: Men in Labor

I thought this video about two “men in labor” would be a fitting Funny Friday this week since we just talked about labor pains and transition in our last post.  It’s pretty hilarious!  Two men from Kensington Church in Michigan decided to put this video together for Mother’s Day in 2013.  They believed they their wives MUST be exaggerating the pain of labor, and to prove it they volunteered to undergo a labor pain simulation.  I love it when they talk about what level they think they at on a pain scale!  Their wives even high-five each other at one point. 🙂 Check out these men in labor! (You can click here to access the direct link of the video on Vimeo.)

“…I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children…” Genesis 3:16 (NASB)

Funny Friday: Dishonest Scales?

A friend sent this picture of her scale informing her that she was "Old"! I wonder if this fits into the category of dishonest scales that God detests?

Funny Friday: Dishonest Scales?

A good friend of mine sent me this picture.  Apparently her scale informed her that she was “Old”.  She said, “I know I just had a birthday, but I didn’t think my scale was supposed to tell me I was old!”  She said the other option was that it may have meant “overload”, but neither one was very flattering (or accurate)! 🙂  I wonder if this could fit into the category of the dishonest scales that God detests?

“The LORD detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.” Proverbs 11:1 (NIV)

Funny Friday: Meet Phteven’s Friend Phtewart

Last week you met Phteven.  This week I thought I’d introduce you to his friend Phtewart!

“One who loves a pure heart and who speaks with grace will have the king for a friend.” Proverbs 22:11 (NIV)

Funny Friday: Meet Phteven

Meet Phteven...you know, Stephen with a "ph"

Funny Friday: Meet Phteven

You’ve probably already seen this somewhere on the internet, but this photo of Phteven here always brings me great joy! 😉  This picture is always good for a laugh.  I think I’ve found a very fitting verse to accompany Phteven too:

“All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.” Acts 6:15 (NIV)

Technically, Phteven has a different name: it’s “Tuna”.  He’s actually quite famous now!  Check out his very own Instagram page here and his website here.  His background story is pretty neat (read about him here).  This charming little dude now even has his own book: Tuna Melts My Heart: The Underdog with the Overbite.

Gotta Love English!

Funny Friday: Gotta Love English!

I came across this image on Pinterest, and it cracked me up!  I can’t imagine trying to learn English as a second language.  Gotta love English!

“And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” Genesis 11:6-7 (KJV)
